The BETWEEN operator with dates

Find orders placed within a date range

In this example, we would like to retrieve order dates that fall between 6/15/2009 and 8/15/2009. The BETWEEN operator is inclusive and it will include orders placed on 6/15/2009 and 8/15/2009 as it is shown in the result set.  In addition, notice the # symbol we use to enclose date values in Access 2007.

SELECT OrderID, orderdate, shippeddate

FROM orders

WHERE orderdate BETWEEN #6/15/2009# AND #8/15/2009#

ORDER BY orderdate DESC
